Our History

2010-2011

Shalina Resources undertook numerous plant improvements and de-bottlenecking to increase recoveries and expand Electro-Winning cells at Usoke Avenue to take production to just over 20,000 tonnes of copper cathodes (LME Grade A quality 9.99999%) and more than 2,000 tonnes of cobalt carbonate by the end of 2011.

  • Upgradation of existing HMS Plant (HMS-1) to produce 300 TPD of concentrate.
  • Erection and commissioning of second HMS Plant to produce 900 TPD of concentrate. Commissioning of 500 TPD Sulphuric Acid Plant to make sufficient acid available for treatment.
  • Pre-Leach concentration system commissioned in August 2011 to increase throughput (by increasing raffinate recycling), reduce limestone consumption and improve the plant's water balance.
  • Additional CCD's for post leach solid liquid separation and copper SX split circuit. This increased soluble metal recovery, plant throughput, plant efficiency and capacity.
