Chemaf commissioned their second HMS and Spiral plant, HMS-II
A 200 TPH HMS & Spiral plant has been commissioned now at Etoile Mines. The detailed design and supply was carried out by DRA, Johannesburg, RSA. It has been constructed by an in-house construction team. Civil Work was exclusively done by Congolese teams, meeting world class standards. The construction was completed in record time of 10 months and the plant is now under stabilization stage.
The plant is designed to achieve 335 MTPH of ROM treatment and the ramp up is expected to be completed by January,2011 ,then, producing 100 MT of contained Copper per day.
This plant shall saturate the feed requirement of Usoke Copper Leach, SX/EW plant, thus allowing Chemaf to reach towards achieving the goal of producing 30,000 TPA of Copper Cathode.
All infrastructure developmental work were also taken up in-house at the mine. A robust power supply system, water sourcing, construction of accommodation for operating and construction persons and tailing management facility(TMF) has also been completed.
To conserve water, a return water dam(RWD) and pumping house has been constructed.
The construction of TMF-1st phase and RWD has also been completed in record time of 4 months.
